I Love to Read Month Activities

This week was kicked off with pajama day, and the students snuggling up with their favorite books for an all elementary read in on Tuesday.

We ended the week with buddy reading with the 5th grade class.  Half of the 5th graders came up to our classroom to share books with a buddy and half of the 2nd graders went downstairs to the 5th grade room.  It was so fun to share our favorite stories with an older friend!

February Fun!

Each day we review our "Bee Promises" and reflect on how we choose to treat each other and work hard during our school day.  The students had a great idea of adding their own "Bee Promise" to our wall.  They were full of wonderful ideas... "bee" patient, "bee" a focused reader, "bee" sweet, and so many more promises about our work habits, character, and choices.

We recently celebrated our 100th day of school.  This is such a fun day to celebrate 100 days of learning!  We ended our day with making 100 day designs and enjoying a snack in which everyone shared 100 items that we combined as one huge trail mix!

We celebrated Valentine's Day last Friday.  After handing out Valentine cards the students enjoyed a dance party before heading out to the hill for sliding.  I'm so glad we were able to sneak in a little outdoor fun among all of this Minnesota cold!

Thank you to our Paraprofessionals!

Last week we celebrated all the wonderful work our paraprofessionals do in our classroom everyday. We are so lucky to have such a fantastic support staff, and we appreciate all that they do!  As a class we wrote a little circle story to say thank you!  Each student made a small picture to decorate the circle story.  Thank you to all of our paraprofessionals!
